ATS LOGISTICS WILL INVEST 20 MILLION EUROS IN GEEL

Dubai, November 2013: ATS Logistics is in the vicinity of Geel invest 20 million euros in logistics services for the petrochemical industry, accounting for 25 to 30 new jobs. The company, headquartered in Dubai, will provide on-site services (warehousing, storage and transport) grant to the Indian group JBF Industries in Geel. The investment was announced today during the Belgian economic mission to India, where Flemish MinisterPresident Kris Peeters had a meeting with the Indian management of ATS Logistics in Mumbai, reports the Cabinet Peeters.

The Indian group JBF Industries had in 2011, during a visit by Minister-President Peeters to Mumbai, an investment of EUR 150 million announced for the establishment of a production unit of PET granules in Geel.

The production of JBF Industries will start in April 2014. By then ATS also be operational to provide logistical services. In time, ATS also provide logistical services to other petrochemical companies in the region.

“This investment confirms ATS Logistics the importance of the petrochemical industry in Flanders. In addition to the direct employment of more than 60,000 people, generates the petrochemical industry already 100,000 indirect jobs in Flanders,” said Peeters.
